The Australian Association for the Welfare of Child Health (AWCH) is a
national organisation of concerned parents and professionals advocating
for the needs of children, adolescents and their families within
hospitals and the health care system in Australia.
AWCH focuses upon the psycho-social non-medical needs of children in
health care, and is involved in education, advocacy, information
provision, support to families and health professionals, as well as
research and consultation. AWCH advocates a holistic family oriented
approach to the care of children, acknowledging the vital role the whole
family plays in aiding the child during acute or chronic illness and in
recovery. |

and social care in England. They regulate care provided by the NHS, local authorities, private
companies and voluntary organisations. They aim to make sure better care
is provided for everyone - in hospitals, care homes and people's own
homes. They also seek to protect the interests of people whose rights are

danger. Trained volunteer counsellors comfort, advise and protect

The Royal College of paediatrics and Child health is one of the Medical
Royal Colleges - we have a major role in postgraduate medical education
and professional standards: setting syllabuses for postgraduate training
in paediatrics, overseeing the training, running examinations,
organising courses and conferences, issuing guidance and conducting
research.
